What a challenge 2020 has been so far. Everywhere we go, everything we see and hear is full of hurt, anger and, of course, fear. We here at the Homestead have been affected as well. Our fairs and shows have all been cancelled through spring 2021 depleting most of our income opportunities. Health issues have even become more of a plague this year.
So what's up with serendipity? What does this have to do with all of the violence, pain and heartache everywhere? So glad you asked!
Homestead 1832 Unique Wood Products started 2020 at a feverish pitch in preparations for our first fair of the year. Burning our candles at both ends is a way of life here yet orders and bookings were coming faster and faster! We also were quite busy dotting all the is' and crossing all the ts' setting the foundation for Homestead legally. Busy, busy, busy!!!
Then all the brakes slammed hard. Suddenly we felt we could not get anything accomplished. March through August was certainly a struggle. Are you having problems coping? I will attest that we surely have!
Then comes September...
The weather so far (here, at least) is beautiful! Health recovery progress is rapid! Much needed supplies and equipment are coming in! And best of all, Christ, in all His grace and glory, opened our eyes to the blessings we received through the depressive trials of our misery. You see, while Homestead seemed to be faltering, God was setting us up for success!
The long months of quarantine, the solitude, the fight for health... during which Jesus became the utmost... allowed time without deadlines or pressure to refine our abilities and increase inventory! At last there are enough quality products to stock an online store!
The goal, God willing, is to have the Homestead web up and running smoothly by January 2021!
Behind every dark cloud is a silver lining.
